1048

The 1048/Super 1048 model was a "2-wide" model built by the New Holland company from 1968 through 1977.  Along with it's sister machine the 1049/Super 1049, "3-wide" they incorporated the crucially successful design features that set New Holland machines apart from the competition and are basically still in production today.  The 1048 utilizes a Ford two-ton truck running gear with a 361 Industrial V-8 engine, 4-speed manual transmission, 2-speed rear axle and heavy duty power steering.  Built upon a heavy USA steel frame, these machines have withstood the test of time.  Although they are getting older, they still offer a fantastic option to those looking for self-propelled advantages without the cost of newer machines.  With automatically tripped, manually operated hydraulics, they offer simple operation and speed to clear bales from the field.  A larger load rack combines to provide greater load capacity when compared to pull-type machines.  The 1049 "Regular" was the first machine built and retains small differences from the "Super" model.  Differences such as larger tires, and a heavier sliding load rack are the major changes that differentiate the "Super", and many older "Regular" machines have been upgraded over the years.  Our extensive parts department stocks most every part needed to keep these machines running long into the future, ensuring you years of operation.  Set up for a "2-wide" bale configuration, the 1048 was designed to haul larger 3-string bales as well as 2-string bales 39"-48" in length.  Capacity of the machine is up to (90) 16"x18" bales, (108) 14"x18" bales 2-string bales, and (69) 3-string bales.  We offer the 1048 in various conditions from "auction condition" to fully reconditioned models to meet you budgetary and operational needs.  Give us a call today to get started.
